If the Welland L.J. Walters Insurance Tigers didn’t enjoy the scenery during their four-hour car ride up to Chesley before the game, they probably didn’t like their ride home any better after falling in a 4-3 setback at the hands of the Highlanders on Saturday afternoon.
After an initial 8-0 rout at the hands of the Highlanders in their first meeting of the season up in Chesley the Tigers battled Grey-Bruce to a scoreless tie back in Welland during their September match-ups. Saturday’s contest once again proved that the initial blowout was an aberration.
#18 Brooker Muir and #5 Brett Golding tallied a goal and an assist apiece in Saturday’s 4-3 loss, with #6 Travis Sheldrake also scoring for the visiting Tigers. Assists were also distributed by #11 Denis Creighton, #17 Morgan Lavoie and #16 Damien Lalonde.
Welland slips to 8-14-8 with the setback and now returns home to square off with the Halton Hurricanes on Wednesday evening.
