Pelham Silver Stick Invitational, December 27-29
The Welland Herbal Magic Tigers compiled a 3-1 record in round-robin competition at the Pelham Silver Stick Invitational, which resulted in a spot in the semi-final game against the St. Catharines Warriors. The Warriors would go on to defeat the Tigers 3-1 to advance to the championship game. Welland came from behind to defeat the Lincoln Blades in their opening match before being narrowly edged by the Caledonia Thunder 3-2 in their second game of the opening day. Welland would rebound with a 4-1 win over the Simcoe Warriors and a 4-3 victory over the Acton Tanners in their second day of action, setting up the showdown with the Warriors on the third day of the tournament. The Tigers now resume regular-season play against the Niagara Falls Thunder on the road on January 7 in Stamford.
