Fort Erie Jr. Meteors vs. Welland Lifestyle Financial Tigers (Minor Bantam A)

The Welland Lifestyle Financial Tigers came up with another big effort to upset the league-leading Fort Erie Meteors 5-1 on Saturday evening in Minor Bantam A action at the Welland Main Arena.  #11 Colton Ambrosio and #7 Darren Dimarco each contributed a goal and an assist and #2 Michael Simpson provided two helpers to pace the Tigers in the home-side victory.  #14 Sebastien Beaudoin, #18 Jakob Banner, and #16 Ryan “Bubba” Dakin also found the back of the Meteors’ net, despite the best efforts of Fort Erie goaltender #1 Scott Horne, who stopped 28 of 33 shots. #3 Justin Brown, #17 Brandon Kaas and #8 Cody Munroe also registered assists improving the Tigers’ record to 12-9-3.  #1 Brodie Barrick recorded the win in net for the Tigers, allowing only one goal at 1:04 of the second period.  #8 Wade Kenny scored on assists from #6 Baily Roubas and #10 Brandon MacKenzie to break up Barrick’s shutout bid.

Welland went 2-for-4 with the man-advantage while Fort Erie was unable to convert on any of its three chances on the night.
