2007 Bell Challenge Cup, December 27-30
Playing seven games in four days against the top teams in all of North America, the Welland Mountainview Homes Tigers came home with more than Consolation Finalist medals in their hockey bags, they also brought home the respect of nearly everyone in attendance. Online forums are abuzz with praise for the Tigers regarding their strong play and excellent sportsmanship during the 30th Annual Bell Challenge Cup.
A clip of the Tiger’s opening game against the Don Mills Flyers was shown on CityTV News and can be seen here:

Through a lot of hard work, the Tigers overcame losses to the Don Mills Flyers and Sudbury Wolves and went on to defeat the Pittsburgh Hornets, the New Jersey Devils, the Lambton Jr. Sting and Team Illinois to reach the Consolation Final versus the Halton Hurricanes. While the Tigers have twice beaten the Hurricanes in regular season play by scores of 7-1 and 3-2, the Hurricanes would prevail in the final game by a 5-1 score.
The Tigers will look to avenge this loss as they once again play the Halton Hurricanes at home on Wednesday evening in their return to SCTA Major Peewee AAA action.
