Burlington Cooperators Eagles vs. Welland E.S. Fox Limited Tigers (Major Bantam AAA)

The Burlington Cooperators Eagles had an easy time, dispatching the Welland E.S. Fox Limited Tigers by a 7-1 score Wednesday evening in Major Bantam AAA action. The Eagles scored on only their second shot on goal, one minute into the first period, and it would be a sign of things to come as they won this contest handily, firing 40 shots at Tigers’ netminder, #31 Jamie Phillips.

The Tigers lone goal came at 5:34 of the first period, while on the power-play, when #12 Kevin Millejours completed a beautiful end-to-end rush to tuck one past Burlington goaltender #30 Matt Cooper, who faced 17 shots on the evening.

The game-winning goal was scored at 0:57 of the second period, when #15 Liam Board converted a pass from #8 Zach Lemay, to put the Eagles ahead 2-1. The Eagles would would score twice more in the second, and three times in the third period to run away with this one.

The Tigers were successful in killing off both penalties they were assessed, and were 1-for-2 on the power-play for the evening. The Welland E.S. Fox Limited Tigers square off against the Niagara Falls Thunder in their next contest, held Tuesday evening in the Falls, before returning home to battle the Grey-Bruce Highlanders the following Saturday afternoon.
